These two right here, are the cutest, nerdiest couple ever! And I just adore them! I mean come on, their wedding hashtag is #welcometothephillipsside (like as in welcome to the dark side, off of Star Wars!) I can't handle it! Not to mention the fact, that Alex is another life long bestfriend, running off getting hitched! It makes my heart so happy to see her happy! Truly. After going through some of the most difficult times of life with this girl (aka, high school and boy drama.) Its reassuring to see that in the end, we can all find our happiness, with the one that is truly meant for our soul!
Now, I don't have a single doubt in my mind that this man, is the right one for Alex. Though I haven't gotten the chance to truly know him, watching the way these two are around each other, makes me so happy! Anyone that is close to alex, knows how she is, knows that she loves with all she has, she's kind hearted, she has a backbone, and though her heart is full of love, and acceptance of others, she isn't one to be walked over. To see a man, who can stand by her side, and love her completely, and be her rock, and still help her assert that back bone, is just true perfection! Here I am getting, all sappy! But i'm a sucker for a good love story guys!
I'm not sure if you all were aware of just how these two love birds got engagement, but it was the sweetest, funniest, and so 'them' moment ever! Let me break it down for you real quick! There's a video out there somewhere if you want proof! At the time, both Alex and Joseph worked together at Walmart, here in Hardinsburg! They were both called up to the office, for a meeting with their manager, who proceeded to tell them, that because the two were employees of the company, and a couple, one would have to leave. I can assure you, at this point, Alex was probably like what in the world is going on. I mean, hello he was pretty much telling her, its you or him, one of you are losing your job! What a way for your day to go, right? Any who, he also mentioned, that unless they were married nothing could really be done about it..... And guess who comes to the rescue! /Joseph, and that gorgeous golden ring! Thus, became the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Phillips!
To say that I am excited to shoot their wedding would be such an understatement! I am so beyond ready for this day to get here! I can't wait to see one of the most important people in my life, walk down the isle, and start a new chapter of her life! Makes my heart swell, and tears fall just thinking about it!
Alex, has been putting up with my excessive picture obsessive ways for years! So she knows how I get when I start clicking that button! We spent an hour or so at Smothers Park for the session, for a more city like urban look! Guys, this was so much fun! Though it was hot, and they were sweating, and I was barking poses, and excitement, and just crazy sounds they were such amazing troopers during the whole thing!!
The other half of the session took place, at one of my favorite places to shoot! Yellow Creek Park! And let me tell you, it was so perfect! They brought balloons, and we spent a decent amount of time trying to get those bad boys aired up! But it was so worth it! As soon as Alex changed into her new outfit, and held the balloons, so many ideas formed in my brain it's not even funny! Most of which, she assumed she would look awkward in! (Like come on girl, have faith in me!) I'm glad to say, she now see's that there isn't an ounce of awkwardness to her! Nothing but cute lovey doveyness (is that a word.-it is now) between her and Joseph!!!
