Model Shoot: Eilijah

A lot of you probably know this fiery guy, if not from the Coffee Shop, then his music he’s producing! I used to work with him back in the day and we always tried to plan a shoot together but never had the chance! Well, when I through the concept idea his way, this time around we made it happen! If you aren’t aware, i’m a sterotype-breaker. Im all about equality on every side, and I think scoiety has really put human beeings into a box of ‘what they should be’ ‘should do’ or is expected of us. I wanted to use this shoot to portray that, you can be you, regardless of what society says.

‘Be a man’ the say. As if there is a certain discription that you should match up with.

I say be YOU. Break the masculinity stereotype. Accept the fact that it’s OK to have emotions and to feel deeply about things, be proud about that. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Know that you are brave and courageous for expressing your feelings in a world that tells you to put them in a little box. I say screw the talk of ‘if you were pink you’re not a real man’, ‘if you cry you’re not a real man’ ‘ if you let your little boy play with Barbies he won’t be a man when he grows up’.
You can be strong and vulnerable at the same time. You can enjoy doing things that are labeled as feminine and still be a man. Why this world has decided that we need labels in the first place is beyond me but know that you can break those labels and you can be proud of who you are. Throw up a middle finger to what society thinks you should be: I say be whatever your heart desires.

Well, after lots of sweat, one too many spiders & three hours later here’s the magic we created.

I hope that in someway my words have reached you. I hope these images speak to you.
