Nugent Family {Goodbye My Old Home}

I had the privilege of working with one of the sweetest, most down to earth families last Sunday. I can't begin to describe how kind hearted and fun each of them were; even in the short amount of time I was with them as a whole they welcomed me with open arms, and were just as excited as I was for this shoot! Shanna, had inquired about doing a family session for her in-laws and the family a few weeks back. Explaining to me that the child hood home of her husband, was leaving the family. That grandma, and pap-paw were moving onto something new, and the place where they created not just a house, but a home, a home to help sculpt their children into the individuals they are today, was taking on a new journey. It's a beautiful thing, to see something worth so much inside the hearts of many, come full circle. It didn't end with just their kids, oh no, Shanna and Justin's kids were able to grow and learn here. Even though it was a short time, both Amber and Jared's children had a chance to experience some unforgettable memories here as well. The memories this beautiful family has from this home is something they will carry with them always. And I am so extremely grateful that  I am able to contribute to such a thing. I'm so thankful, for this passion of mine, and the fact that I can help give families keep sakes of something they hold so dear.

I knew only Shanna, to start out (she's my lovely bank clerk!) but I could feel the love everyone had for this home, I could see the happiness they had just being there. I was able to get a small glimpse of their life's, in the hour that I was there, and it was beautiful. The way Carolyn, wanted to start working on her catfish dish for the family; I could imagine many meals cooked in that kitchen, and her gathering everyone up to eat! I pondered on the hard work and dedication it took for Pawpaw to dig such a whole for their family pound(by hand, with a shovel!) Can you picture the amount of fishing trips, they probably took down there!? And the garden that they were picking from as I left; It warmed my heart to see them spending time together, in such a way that most don't anymore. Family, that is all that matters. Even when your childhood home is leaving you, as long as you still have your loved ones. That's all that matters. So enjoy this small but important view into this beautiful families lives!
